HGS has a highly experienced management team that understands what is required to operate in the harsh terrains of Australia’s mineral fields.
We formulate plans promptly and operate quickly to keep costs to a minimum.
Our field personnel have extensive industry experience, with backgrounds in remote exploration, drilling, vehicle mechanics, and camp management.
Our Exploration Team includes: an Operations Manager, Supervising Field Assistants, Field Assistants, and Geologists, while our Head Office is manned by an Administration Manager, Accounts Manager and an Administration Assistant.
Andrew Hawker
Andrew Hawker BSc (Geol) MAusIMM MAIG MSEG AWASM, is the Director/Principal Geologist at HGS Australia.
Andrew has over 30 years’ industry experience, mostly associated with gold and nickel within the Eastern Goldfields and Murchison Districts of Western Australia. He has also worked in the Northern Territory and in Ghana, West Africa.
Andrew has extensive experience in resource evaluation, surface and underground mining, exploration and project development.
Prior to the establishment of HGS Australia, Andrew held the following positions:
Regis Resources – Manager, Technical and Ore Reserves
Focus Minerals – Senior Geologist
Bogoso Gold Mine – Resource Evaluations Superintendent
St Barbara (Meekatharra), Mincor, Barminco, Centaur Mining & Exploration, and Newcrest Mining – Senior and Chief Mine Geologist positions
Eltin Minerals, North Flinders Mines, KCGM, and Great Victoria Gold – Mine Geologist

Fox
Kelvin graduated in 1988 with a BSc in geology from University of Technology, Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Murdoch University WA.
In the past 27 years Kelvin has undertaken exploration fieldwork activities directed at the discovery of the following styles of deposits: Archaean Shear hosted Gold, Placer Gold, Archaean Magnetite, Archaean Nickel, Archaean Vanadium, Proterozoic Base Metals, Proterozoic Manganese, Proterozoic Unconformity Hosted Uranium, Proterozoic IOCG, Proterozoic Copper and Gold, Archaean VMS and Tertiary Calcrete-hosted Uranium.
Kelvin has managed many of HGS’s campaign field projects.
